who am I

30/08/2002, miriam fiordeponti, berlin

about where i live and where i was born and whom i love. (whats the difference between a jewish mother and a pitbull, the pitbull sooner or later, releases you)

who am I?
who am I in the global community?
how is my life connected to the global community?
am I a part of the global community?

of course i am, everybody is!?

but how does the whole thing afect my everyday life?
globalisation, such a big word, makes me feel so small.
whats my part to globalisation?
does my wish to travel and meet foreign people, make me
a global person?

my father was italian and emigrated with my austrian mother
1950 to switzerland, where i was born in 1961.
he met my mother in 1944, in a little austrian village
where he was a war prisoner. my mother is half jewish.
i do have an italian passport, and i lived in switzerland till
i was 26. after i finished the acting school in zürich, i moved
to hamburg/germany in 1987.
i never lifed in italy, i still speak italian, thanks to my father,
he only spoke italian to me although, i didn´t wanted to be
recognized as italian when i was little, i wanted to be a nice
little swiss girl.
my father died january 2001 and i still miss him very much!!!!

now i am happy to be italian, but what does that mean, i never
lived there, and when i visit my friends and relatives there,
i can feel everyday that i grew up different. they relate
so much to there family and spend so much time together.
i rather try to escape my family specialy after the dead of
my father. i´m still escaping from my mother.
but at the same time i like to be in this community i like to
eat together with 10 people or more. it makes me feel home somehow,
but at the same time i know i couldn´t live that way at all.

when i am in switzerland it feels like this should be my heimat, because
i grew up here, and everything reminds my of my
childhood, i don´t like to be remindet of my youth!

what about germany? i live ther since 15 years, it was my choice to
live in hamburg, i fell in love with this city at first sight.
i met my husband in hamburg. the best that ever happend to me!

i used to laugh when he was talking about WELTVERSCHWÖRUNG.
i don´t laugh anymore know.
