so you know Richmond is not all guns and roses...
The editors of one of our local tabloids (the one with a Letterman-like attitude) published an interview with Dan Savage; who writes the column Savage Love. His column is published all over the US and overseas - and is a delight to read in contrast the depressing headlines that slap us in the face each morning. 22/10/2002, by amie oliver, richmond

Darkness falls on a city uneasy
The Tarot Killer, or whatever urban myth name may be stuck to him, continues at large after making the multijurisdictional taskforce appear foolish. Life in Richmond in October
I have many German friends that have chosen to make Richmond their home. They love the heat, which they compare to the tropics. I love living here, but the heat is my nemisis. October brings relief, heavy rains sent here from the hurricanes of the real tropics ; and autumn color when the trees shed their leaves. It is a time for reflection, and inquiry; a time to consider the evidence of our industry and the consequences. 19/10/2002, by amie oliver, richmond
